CHDT. 的創辦人 Wober,清楚記得在疫情期間,一位熱愛烘焙的朋友突然帶來一塊芝士蛋糕到派對上分享。當 Wober 嚐到第一口時,他便驚覺這味道與以往品嚐過的芝士蛋糕截然不同。加上朋友詳細講解了它的獨特之處與品嚐方法,Wober 心中油然升起一個直覺:這或許能發展成一番事業!於是,他立刻約了這位師傅和一位好友詳談,CHDT. 的籌備工作便由此展開,旨在試探市場反應。
對於 Wober 個人而言,「放棄」的念頭從未出現過。他深信,所有問題都有解決之道,關鍵只在於能否找到合適的方法並付諸實踐。這種堅韌不拔的信念,是他一路走來,克服種種挑戰的動力。

東京街頭的頓悟:尋寶與夢想的交織
從 CHDT. 成立之初,Wober 便希望能將它打造成一間結合多種元素的店鋪。直到與 HOW DEPT. 的主理人 Fung 會面,Fung 給予的自由度讓他決定了 Pop-up store 的營運方式,這也激發了 Wober 加入中古選物元素的想法。他親身到東京尋寶,在旅程的最後一天,當他獨自一人在街頭抽煙時,忽然湧現出一種強烈的感覺:「這就是我想做的事。」那個瞬間,他找到了將美食與獨特選物結合的明確方向。
本地創作的色彩:夢想與活力的源泉
Wober 認為,本地創作已成為城市不可或缺的一部分。如果缺少了本地創作的元素,整個城市都將被連鎖店和大集團所佔據,將會失去許多獨特的色彩,同時也會讓本地年輕人失去憧憬與夢想的機會。他相信,本地創作是城市活力的來源,也為年輕一代提供了實現夢想的平台。

在 Wober 的創業經歷中,西貢天后誕是他最深刻的回憶。一方面,天后誕是西貢普天同慶的日子,充滿了濃厚的本地傳統氣氛;另一方面,他在擺攤的五天裡認識了許多西貢街坊,有些人甚至連續三四天都會出現在攤位前,與他閒聊、分享美食。這些簡簡單單的交流,反而成了他最喜歡也最難忘的時刻。
相信自己:給十年前的叮嚀
如果能對十年前的自己說一句話,Wober 會說:「要相信自己,不要因為外界的說話而改變自己的想法以及否定自己的能力。」他深知自己過去是個容易受他人言語影響的人,也因此發現這些改變往往並非好事。這份寶貴的經驗,讓他學會了堅持內心的聲音。

A Message from the Founder
CHDT.'s founder, Wober, vividly recalls the moment during the pandemic when a friend who loves baking unexpectedly brought a slice of cheesecake to a party. Upon tasting the first bite, he was immediately struck by how different it was from any cheesecake he had tasted before. Coupled with his friend's detailed explanation of its unique qualities and tasting methods, an intuition arose in Wober's mind: this could be developed into a business\! He promptly arranged a meeting with the baker and a close friend, and the groundwork for CHDT. began, aiming to test the market response.
For Wober personally, the thought of "giving up" has never surfaced. He firmly believes that all problems have solutions; the key is simply finding the right method and putting it into practice. This tenacious conviction has been his driving force for overcoming all challenges along the way.
Brand Story
Epiphany on a Tokyo Street: The Interweaving of Treasure Hunting and Dreams
From the very beginning of CHDT.'s establishment, Wober hoped to build it into a store that incorporates various elements. It wasn't until his meeting with Fung, the person in charge of HOW DEPT., that the freedom he was given to determine the Pop-up store's operation sparked the idea of adding vintage curated items. On the last day of his personal treasure hunt in Tokyo, while smoking alone on the street, a powerful feeling suddenly emerged: "This is what I want to do." In that moment, he found a clear direction for combining gourmet food with unique curated selections.
The Color of Local Creation: A Source of Dreams and Vitality
Wober believes that local creation has become an indispensable part of the city. If the element of local creation were absent, and the entire area were dominated by chain stores and large corporations, the city would lose much of its unique color, and locally raised young people would be deprived of aspirations and opportunities for their dreams. He believes local creation is the source of urban vitality and provides a platform for the younger generation to realize their dreams.
The Flavor of Sai Kung: A Crystalization of Community Spirit and Creativity
Among all of CHDT.'s products, the "Sai Kung flavor" cheesecake is currently the most popular, and it's also the one Wober is personally most satisfied with and fond of. He finds the flavor highly creative and very delicious. Furthermore, he believes that the lively atmosphere of the Tin Hau Festival in Sai Kung and the warm local community spirit have enhanced the product's unique appeal and popularity among customers.
Commitment to Detail: The Brand's Warmth Conveyed through Touch
Wober maintains a strict commitment to one small detail that customers might not specifically notice, but he deems indispensable. That is, whether it's the product packaging or the complimentary spoon, he aims to do the best possible within his means. Warm Memories of the Tin Hau Festival: Everyday Connections with Locals
In Wober's entrepreneurial journey, the Tin Hau Festival in Sai Kung holds his most profound memories. Firstly, the festival is a day of universal celebration in Sai Kung, steeped in a strong local traditional atmosphere. Secondly, over the five days he set up his stall, he met many Sai Kung locals, some of whom would visit his stall three or four days, chatting and sharing food with him. These simple, everyday interactions became his favorite and most unforgettable moments.
Believe in Yourself: An Admonition for Ten Years Ago
If he could say one sentence to his ten-year-ago self, Wober would say: "Believe in yourself; do not change your ideas or negate your ability because of what others say." He knows he used to be easily influenced by others' words, and discovered that such changes were not always beneficial. This invaluable experience taught him to stick to his inner voice.
