Jeremy, the founder of WURE AREA, established this experimental space dedicated to promoting grassroots art practices. In 2019, inspired by vibrant local art scenes during an overseas trip, he pondered, "Could Hong Kong also have such a creative platform?" This thought marked the inception of WURE AREA. To Jeremy, WURE AREA is an "open, collective, and disoriented" field—not just a physical space, but a platform embracing diverse imaginations and dialogues. He hopes it encourages free exchange, the discovery of new perspectives, and the forging of cross-disciplinary connections. Despite the challenges of entrepreneurship, especially feeling overwhelmed by administrative and operational tasks, the dedication of creators and feedback from visitors continually reinforce his original mission, driving him to cultivate possibilities for Hong Kong's alternative cultural landscape.
