在過日辰眾多受客人喜愛的產品中,Orangeccino(橙蜜泡泡咖啡)無疑是最特別的一款。

A Message from the founder
Casta traces the genesis of "Casta" back to a night filled with serendipity. Under the influence of alcohol, a group of like-minded friends conceived an "outrageous" idea: why not create a gathering place for everyone? This seemingly drunken decision held the most genuine desire—a space where everyone could truly "have a good day" (過日辰). The team comprised individuals skilled in coffee, cooking, design, promotion, and even renovation. With an unknown surge of courage, they found a storefront and plunged headfirst into the tide of entrepreneurship.
A Day We11 Spent in Cantonese means "to have a good day." This is their greatest hope for this space. They wish that whether one comes alone to enjoy coffee and read quietly, meets with friends, or even celebrates boisterously with a large group, every single moment can become a beautiful time and memory. The birth of this small shop also unexpectedly became a bridge for friends to reconnect, providing more opportunities for those who rarely saw each other to gather.
If three adjectives were to describe the brand "Casta," they would be "approachable," "warm," and "possibility."
The first is "approachable." The owners consistently put themselves in the customer's shoes, imagining the atmosphere they would most desire upon entering a shop.
Next is "warm." This warmth is not only reflected in the food and beverages but also extends to every carefully selected product in the store. Many food items are made by hand as much as possible, hoping that customers can taste their sincerity in every bite. They believe that only through heartfelt creation can the truest warmth be conveyed.
Finally, "possibility." The phrase "the possibilities of a coffee shop" became Casta's motto and has continuously driven them forward. They constantly ponder how many stories this small space can hold and how many different possibilities it can create.
In the early days of Casta's entrepreneurship, market challenges indeed left them feeling lost. Faced with scarce customers after reopening and unfamiliarity with promotion, it was inevitable to have many doubts, even questioning whether their chosen direction was right or wrong.
However, the thought of giving up never truly took hold. What sustained them through difficult times was an inner yearning for the future and anticipation for more collaborations. They knew deeply that many unfulfilled dreams awaited realization. Thus, the owner and partners supported each other, tackling and resolving every problem step by step, ultimately emerging from their predicament.
Brand Story
A "Thank You" from Customers: The Deepest Satisfaction in the F&B Industry
In the daily operations of Casta, the moments that make them feel "this is what I want to do" are undoubtedly when they intend to express gratitude to customers, but customers, in turn, say "thank you" and cheer them on. When customers taste their sincerity in the food and give genuine feedback, that sense of satisfaction makes it all worthwhile, even when they're sweating profusely from hard work. This is the purest and deepest joy in the F&B industry, as it signifies that their intentions are seen and their efforts are recognized.
Handmade Warmth in the City: Overlooked Local Creations and Human Touch
The owner believes that "local creations" and "handmade goods" play a crucial role in this city but are often overlooked. She observes that Hong Kong people's lives are too busy and rushed, seemingly lacking the time and space to notice the many beautiful things and passionate creators around them.
She laments that society often has a dismissive and critical attitude towards "local creations" and small businesses, simply saying, "They're just doing some little creative things, aren't they?" thereby negating the immense effort behind the creators. However, in Hong Kong, there are indeed many interesting and dedicated creators, as well as local farmers who quietly cultivate truly "local creations" with genuine roots. The owner hopes everyone can cherish these valuable resources.
In the future, they also hope to experiment with "local ingredients" to create more delicacies, practicing the "From Farm to Table" concept, allowing customers to appreciate nature's purest works of art.
Furthermore, Casta actively collaborates with various artisans and artists, integrating "From Craft to Table" into their daily operations. For example, the shop features furniture, utensils, and decorations designed by local wood carving artists, allowing customers to directly use these "local creations" and handmade items while dining. Customers can sit at handcrafted wooden tables and chairs, closely interacting with artworks, and more deeply sensing the message expressed by the creators.
The Warmth of the Orange "Sun": Orangeccino and the Casta Connection
Among Casta's many popular products, Orangeccino (Orange Honey Foam Coffee) is undoubtedly the most special. This coffee was created two years ago, born from the first "One-Day Pop-Up" collaboration between Casta and local brand "formlessdaily" (土炮日常). It is more than just a cup of coffee; it represents a connection and a bond.
The soul of Orangeccino lies in its candied orange slice. It is the result of time and effort, slowly simmered and thinly sliced, with each piece embodying the maker's dedication. When placed on the coffee, it resembles a halved orange, or a warm sun. Both visually and tastefully, Orangeccino perfectly interprets the warmth and vitality that the "Casta" brand represents.
Gradually, this orange coffee evolved into an entire "Orange Menu," with main dishes, beverages, and desserts all revolving around the orange theme. This has also established a deep connection between "orange" and "Casta," making customers naturally associate orange with Casta, as if orange has become the brand's unique symbol.
Warmth in Details: Remembering Your "The Usual?"
In Casta's daily operations, there's a small detail that the owner particularly insists upon, which many customers might not notice but he considers absolutely indispensable. That is the appropriate ambient music temperature in the store and their genuine approach to interacting with customers.
She believes that as a small shop, the most important thing to show is friendliness and enthusiasm, but this enthusiasm must never make customers feel pressured. Therefore, they strive to remember each customer's name and their usual orders for dishes and drinks. When customers return, a warm "The usual?" can instantly bridge the distance between them. For them, these two words are as powerful and warm as the sun, and they are what makes Casta unique.
Through conversations with customers, the owner finds that many are willing to share their daily lives and interesting stories, which also creates a strong sense of belonging in the shop. This way of treating customers as friends is key to Casta retaining people's hearts.
Healing Creative Blocks: Exercise, Friends, and Original Intent
When the creative block casts its shadow, Casta, as a "shop assistant," has her unique ways of coping. When her mind enters a state of "brain paralysis," she transforms into someone with an inherent motor and backup battery, always able to quickly re-energize. This might be related to her past as an athlete; she deeply understands that in the process of practice, success and failure are inevitable. Failure is not the end but merely "feedback" in the process. "If it doesn't work, try again!" This optimism and resilience drive him to keep trying.
When he needs a breather, she chooses to go for a walk, a run, or play a ball game. Meeting friends is also an important way for him to regain passion. What most ignites her enthusiasm is recalling her original intention for creating this space—to provide a gathering place for friends. Every time she thinks of this simple yet warm reason, she smiles, and her passion for Casta reignites.
Formlessdaily: From Strangers to Family, a Warm Connection
During Casta's operations, Casta once initiated a conversation with customers sitting by the window, discovering they were Flora and Chuchu from the local baking brand "Tu Po Yat Seung." At that time, Casta was in its early opening stages, contemplating collaboration possibilities, and boldly offered to consign their bread. Although Flora was initially shy, Casta held the mentality of "if you ask, you might be rejected, but if you don't ask, you'll definitely fail." Ultimately, the Tu Po Yat Seung team decided to collaborate with Casta to host a "One-Day Pop-Up" event, allowing online fans to taste limited-edition items on-site and even meet the "formlessdaily aunties" in person.
The first collaboration was a great success, with the shop fully packed. Casta was amazed by the warm, family-like atmosphere between Tu Po Yat Seung and their customers, which further solidified Casta's philosophy of treating customers as friends. Since then, Casta has grown bolder, actively collaborating with various sectors, from workshops, school visits, art exhibitions, to busking. Over two years, they have hosted over twenty events and exhibitions, developing Casta from just a coffee shop into a platform connecting community and art.
A Decade Reviewed: The Imprint of No Regrets and Gratitude
If the owner of A Day We11 Spent could say one thing to her ten-years-ago self, he would gently ask: "Have the things you've done in these past ten years made you proud without regret?" This question is not only a scrutiny of past years but also carries her contentment and gratitude for the present. She deeply understands that every encounter, connection, and understanding, every important moment, and all the people and events experienced, have converged to form who she is today.
Living in the Present: The Orange and White Space of A Day We11 Spent
A Day We11 Spent hopes that what everyone can most profoundly feel through their brand in the present moment is finding a moment of respite and energy replenishment within this orange and white space.
The purpose and goal of A Day We11 Spent is simple: to provide a place for busy city dwellers to take a good breath. Here, you can simply order some coffee and food to prepare for the day; enjoy a lunch to recharge; have an afternoon tea pastry and a coffee to refresh; sit by the window to feel the breeze and meet friends for dinner; or if you're tired from walking alone, turn a corner and sit down quietly.
A Day We11 Spent does not mean wasting time, but rather living well amidst a busy and demanding life. They particularly enjoy the feeling of "recharging" their customers. The "regulars' photo wall" filled with instant photos in the store is actually set up for themselves, hoping to recognize customers about to enter at a glance, gently call their names, and then say a warm "The usual?" For A Day We11 Spent, these two words are like the sun, full of power and warmth, and are their unique way of building deep connections with their customers.
