BeCandle的創辦人Xavier，在創業初期曾帶著自製的蠟燭，穿梭於香港、東京、紐約、韓國等地的市集。每一次的擺攤，都充滿了期待，但也伴隨著不確定。許多時候，帶回工作室的貨品遠比賣出的多，甚至連機票成本都難以回收。那段日子，放棄的念頭時常浮現，然而，對香薰蠟燭的熱情與堅持，讓他選擇將這份事業當成興趣，繼續摸索前行。

點亮「這就是我想做的事」的瞬間

最初，BeCandle的設想僅僅是在工作室裡製作蠟燭，然後再將它們帶到外面販售。從未想過要擁有自己的店鋪。然而，一次偶然的機會，Xavier在住家附近找到一個小小的店面，打算將其作為製作和販售的空間。開幕當天，看著越來越多的客人和街坊走進店裡，帶著好奇與喜悅選購蠟燭，並與他閒話家常，那一刻，Xavier心中豁然開朗：「這就是我想做的事！」這份直接的連結與交流，讓BeCandle不再只是一個商品，而是承載著溫暖與故事的存在。

啟發於「水」的智慧

正如武術哲學家李小龍所言：「清空你的思緒，無形無狀，像水一樣。把水放進杯子，它就變成杯子。把水放進茶壺，它就變成茶壺。水可以流動，可以滲透，可以滴落，可以奔騰。像水一樣，我的朋友。」這句話也深深影響著BeCandle的發展。品牌始終保持開放的心態，不斷探索與創新。

回收再利用，永續的香氣旅程

有一天，一位外籍客人帶著用完的蠟燭器皿回到店裡，詢問是否可以回收再利用。這個簡單的舉動，卻點亮了Xavier心中的另一個火花。這個問題不僅觸動了他對於環保的思考，更成為了BeCandle日後推動香薰蠟燭重注服務的靈感來源。從此，BeCandle不僅販售香氣，更傳遞著永續與惜物的理念，讓每一份香氣的旅程都能延續下去。

A Message from the founder

Xavier, the founder of BeCandle, initially travelled through markets in Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York, and Korea with his handmade candles. Each time he set up a stall, it was filled with anticipation but also uncertainty. Often, he would bring more goods back to the studio than he sold, sometimes barely recouping his flight costs. During those days, the thought of giving up often surfaced. However, his passion and persistence for scented candles led him to treat this venture as a hobby and continue to explore.

Brand Story

Lighting Up the Moment of "This is What I Want to Do"

Initially, BeCandle was conceived simply as a studio where candles would be made and then sold elsewhere. Having a physical shop was never part of the plan. However, by chance, Xavier found a small storefront near his home, intending to use it for production and sales. On opening day, watching more and more customers and neighbors walk into the shop, curiously and joyfully selecting candles, and chatting with him, a realization dawned on Xavier: "This is what I want to do!" This direct connection and interaction transformed BeCandle from just a product into something that carried warmth and stories.

Inspired by the Wisdom of "Water"

As martial arts philosopher Bruce Lee said: "Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. If you put water into a teapot, it becomes a teapot. Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water, my friend." This quote deeply influenced BeCandle's development. The brand has always maintained an open mind, continuously exploring and innovating.

Recycle and Reuse, A Sustainable Scent Journey

One day, a foreign customer brought a used candle vessel back to the shop, asking if it could be refilled. This simple act ignited another spark in Xavier's heart. This question not only sparked his thoughts on environmental protection but also became the inspiration for BeCandle's future initiative to offer candle refilling services. From then on, BeCandle not only sells scents but also conveys the philosophy of sustainability and cherishing resources, allowing every scent journey to continue.
